Description
To provide an affordable mindfulness program that is fine-tuned to cater to university students with busy school lives. Students will pick up knowledge and skills related to mindfulness to help them in managing their stress and enriching their lives.
The expected programme outline for the Koru Mindfulness workshop involves students in the following activities:
- Practice a skill/meditation for at least 10min/day
- Use the Koru app to submit a meditation log/day (The Koru Mindfulness App (Android and iOS) is an important companion to the Koru class. This app provides a meditation timer and guided versions of all the skills learned in class. The app is also where students log their meditation sessions and receive guidance from Brother Ong, the teacher, without having to wait until the next lesson.)
- Read assigned chapters in the book "Mindful Twenty-Something" (Students are expected to read certain chapters in the books prior to the workshop to get a better understanding of the purpose and meaning of mindfulness.)
- Commit themselves to attend all four lessons
Do take note that students will have to pay a small fee of $5 to gain full access to the Koru App.
Students can borrow the "Mindful Twenty-Something" book from NLB, else purchase an e-copy copy from Amazon.
Students interested to sign up for Koru Mindfulness have to do so by 12 August 2020, and more information will be sent closer to the date of the event.
