NUS Graduate Students' Society
About
The NUS Graduate Students' Society (GSS) has been the heart of
social and academic life for graduate students since its inception in 1985.
GSS is run by a dedicated team of graduate student leaders who strive to enrich the lives of graduate students across all faculties and departments. GSS also aims to facilitate communication between graduate students and the university administration to improve student welfare. Representing the rights of graduate students and bridging communication between graduate students and the university is a major part of what we do here at NUS GSS.
Every year, GSS organizes a wide range of events for graduate students. These include academic competitions, career and personal development events, social activities, and student dialogues. The Executive Committee members of GSS also meet with various university administrators to share thoughts and concerns that are relevant to the NUS graduate student community. Every year, NUS GSS conducts dialogues with graduate student representatives from every faculty to learn about the issues that graduate students face. NUS GSS also works closely with the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of the Provost on various issues related to graduate student life.
The mission of GSS is to serve, to connect, and to enrich graduate student life at NUS.
Graduate students who wish to have their voices heard may contact our General Secretary.
Membership is free and all graduate students of NUS are eligible to sign up to be members of NUS GSS. Members of NUS GSS receive first-hand news on changes to university policies and are kept updated on the various graduate student events on campus.
