NUS Indian Cultural Society
About
The National University of Singapore Indian Cultural Society aims to foster a greater appreciation of Indian culture within and outside NUS, through various cultural events and activities. NUS ICS is also space for members from different socio-cultural backgrounds to interact and join forces in planning the diverse range of events. Formed in 1967, NUS ICS is a non-profit student organisation, that has been spearheading initiatives like “NUS Deepavali Night” and “Uttarayan”, inculcating Indian cultural appreciation. We also have CIP events such as “Nurture Programme”, co-organised with Leng Kee CC; our other involvements include “Holi” (organised with Kembangan CC).
NUS Naach, currently a subgroup under ICS, is a modern-Indian dance troupe whose repertoire boasts of a diverse set of styles with a touch of Bollywood. Helmed under our resident choreographer, Akash Abhishek, Naach is formed with both established dancers and aspiring ones. We also have a strong history of several successful dance productions backing us and an exciting future ahead.
